Girls Who Code provides a bank of optional challenges for college-aged women, encouraging them to: connect with women in CS, build community, and expand their CS experience. These are accessed through the Girls Who Code learning platform, HQ.
Each challenge is designed to be completed in about 2 hours and comprises planning materials for the College Loop President, the main event for everyone to follow as they complete the challenge, and an optional “go beyond“ that allows College Loop members to continue the challenge after the event.
What makes Girls Who Code special is that we're not just here to teach girls how to code. We believe that in order to change the world you need more than just coding skills. So, along with building strong ties and developing a supportive network of peers, each challenge ends with a reflection section that encourages College Loop members to see themselves as: Leaders, Allies, and Learners.
