Yes, 3rd-5th grade students do need to register on HQ, with the assistance and oversight of their parents. Girls Who Code HQ helps Facilitators and Club members communicate and stay on the same page. And there are so many other benefits, including:
-
Resources & Support: HQ registrations are how we identify the number of students in a Club, and the level of support and resources each Club needs.
-
Parent Participation: We want to ensure that parents are aware of what their children are working on. HQ is a collaborative environment that allows parents to stay in the loop about what their child is learning and doing in their Club.
- Ongoing Support: As students advance from 3rd-5th grade Clubs to 6th-12th grade Clubs, they will receive expanded access to the wide variety of resources that are contained within HQ.
3rd-5th grade students may be enrolled in their Club on HQ in two ways:
- Facilitators can provide the Club Code to students and parents and have families complete their HQ registration independently.
- Facilitators may use the "Invite Students" button on their own HQ homepage, using the parent or guardian’s email address.
