The primary difference between these programs is whether it begins with an online or offline approach.
For 3rd-5th grade Clubs, members start their Clubs experience with guided lesson plans centered on Girls Who Code's book, Learn to Code and Change the World. Sessions are fewer, with 3rd-5th grade Clubs having 5-10+ sessions, whereas 6th-12th grade Clubs have 10-15+ sessions.
6th-12th grade Clubs start right off the bat with online-based lesson plans that utilize a variety of web-hosted tools.
For both programs, Facilitators can find their Club’s curriculum on HQ.
Another difference is that the main focus for 3rd-5th grade Clubs is to develop skills such as bravery and confidence in their Computer Science skills, whereas the end goal for 6th-12th grade Clubs is to create a Final Project where girls work together to solve a problem that is important to them, connecting the skills they have learned with the ability to solve real-world problems and create change in their communities.
