The Girls Who Code curricula are designed to be flexible, so there's no set number of times a Club has to meet. Clubs may meet at a schedule that works best for them, as decided by the Facilitator.
Most Clubs choose to meet weekly or every other week for about 1 to 2 hours. We strongly recommend scheduling at least 60 minutes per meeting to give the Facilitator enough time to prepare for and cover all the material for that session. If you need to meet for a different length of time, don't worry! Our materials include instructions for condensed meeting formats.
The 3rd-5th grade curriculum is designed to meet for 10+ sessions.
The 6th-12th grade curriculum is usually covered in 10+ sessions.
The number of meetings held also depends on the Club’s duration, which is left up to the discretion of the Clubs Facilitator and signatory. Clubs may be held at any time during the year, including the summer.
