Girls Who Code Clubs are free computer science programs for 3rd-12th graders of any skill level. Volunteer Facilitators can host Clubs in nonprofit settings like schools, libraries, community centers, and other nonprofits such as Boys & Girls Clubs and YWCA.
Beyond teaching coding skills, Clubs support social-emotional development and confidence building through an emphasis on community and spotlighting diverse tech innovators.
Girls Who Code’s expert educators have designed our Club materials to ensure Facilitators have everything they need to launch, lead, and grow girls-first computer science programming. With curriculum tailored for 3rd-5th and 6th-12th grades, Clubs serve the unique learning and social needs of different age groups.
Club Facilitators can conveniently access the curriculums on Girls Who Code HQ, a browser-based learning platform. Curriculum includes:
• Coding activities with Facilitator Guides
• Sisterhood Activities to build community and confidence
• GWC Tech Spotlights celebrating diverse role models in tech
Girls Who Code also provides step-by-step instructions, personalized live support, supplies, real-world projects, and immersive event opportunities for participants.
Importantly, Clubs offer flexibility. They can exist as standalone programs or integrate into other offerings like robotics clubs, summer camps, or even computer science or other STEM-focused classes. Clubs can be offered in-person or virtually, and they typically take place after school, during lunch or free periods, on weekends, or during the summer. Learn how you can get started today!
