We’re thrilled you’re interested in taking the next step and staying engaged with GWC! The following information will equip you with the guidance and steps necessary to establish a Club in your school or community.
Please note that GWC Club applications must be submitted by an adult 18 or older. To initiate a GWC Club, we highly recommend reviewing the following resources for further information and guidance:
Secure a meeting space:
Identify a Club Facilitator (must be 18 years of age or older):
- What are the requirements to become a Club Facilitator?
- What is the time commitment required to be a Facilitator?
- Will Girls Who Code send someone to lead my Club?
- Can I start a Club if I am not affiliated or employed with a host organization?
- What is the Facilitator background check process?
- I want to help facilitate my Club but I am under 18. How can I help?
Confirm who will sign the Participation Agreement (“signatory”):
Get tech equipment:
Have the Club Facilitator or signatory submit the Club Application on GWC HQ:
Once you’ve secured a meeting space, identified an adult Facilitator (18 or older), obtained a representative from the host organization to sign the Participation Agreement, and arranged for desktops or laptops, the Facilitator can proceed with the application:
Note! Individuals under 18 years old are ineligible to apply to start a Club. Applying with a false birth date will result in a rejected application.
